What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Social Worker II (Applicant Pool) position at Greenfield Union School District - Kern County?
Under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Education Services, the School Social Worker II will improve mental and emotional well-being in the educational setting by providing social services that address behavioral, social-emotional, environmental, and mental health care needs. The School Social Worker II will provide guidance and support for the District MultiTiered Systems of Support (MTSS). As directed by the Director of School Safety and Student Supports, the School Social Worker II will assist with triage, training, and modeling to support school staff when students are in social, emotional and/or behavioral crisis. The School Social Worker II will provide a wide range of positive behavioral intervention and supports including assessment, crisis intervention, counseling, case management, school-based wraparound services and community liaisons.
This is a highly specialized professional position in which the School Social Worker II will utilize Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) frameworks to improve the mental, social, emotional and behavioral wellbeing of students. The School Social Worker II has advanced training in the ecological assessment and evidence-based treatment modalities that address behavioral, social, emotional and mental health concerns including social factors that impact learning and
improve whole child growth. Advancement to this position requires a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from an accredited college or university accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), and a valid License as a Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). The School Social Worker II may be required to clinically supervise Associate Social Workers.
