Your Opportunity
As a Packaging Engineer II you will be responsible for overall design and guidance related to packaging products for all of Greenheck Group's locations within the United States, primarily industrial/durable goods packaging utilizing corrugated, foams, wood open slat design crates, skids and pallets. This is an on-site role located in Schofield WI.

Your Opportunity
As a Packaging Engineer II you will be responsible for overall design and guidance related to packaging products for all of Greenheck Group's locations within the United States, primarily industrial/durable goods packaging utilizing corrugated, foams, wood open slat design crates, skids and pallets. This is an on-site role located in Schofield WI.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Responsible for new and existing product package design.
- Aid in the selection of packaging material suppliers for both domestic and international manufacturing locations.
- Analyze new packaging material and design trends and determine if applicable and feasible for use.
- Ensure that manufactured and purchased packaging component part drawings exist whether developed internally or provided by an outside supplier.
- Maintain packaging standard operating procedures (SOP).
- Work with outside suppliers to resolve any quality deficiencies should they occur to ensure packaging purchased part specifications are maintained.
- Develop package designs that maximize truck trailer space utilization to aid Greenheck Group logistics department in maintaining or reducing freight costs while still ensuring no or minimal freight damage.
- Support international sales department with estimates for air, LCL and ocean container shipments.
- Conduct package testing procedures when needed to evaluate current and new package designs designed by International Safe Transit Association (ISTA).
- Responsible for companywide compliance to international wood packaging shipment regulation ISPM-15.
- Provide skid/pallet design for Greenheck manufactured machinery shipping to remote manufacturing locations.
- Analyze field problems involving product shipping damage and determine if package design changes are warranted.
- Provide custom package designs for special design request (SDR) sales orders.
- 3-5 years of relevant packaging design and development, preferably in the HVAC industry or similar industrial products. Proven track record of managing packaging projects.
- 4 Year / bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field required.
- AutoCAD/Inventor experience is preferred.
- Continuous improvement / lean training is preferred.
- Knowledge with packaging regulations is a plus.
- Will work on-site in Schofield, WI.
- Will work closely with all Greenheck Group locations within the US.
- Some but limited travel for this role, approximately 10%.
- Will spend about 30 to 40% of your time out on the shop floor.
