Continually strive to maximize plant operations, machine utilization, labor efficiency, product quality, and customer satisfaction. Typically oversees one plant location and will directly supervise production leaders and other manufacturing support roles.

The starting base pay range for this position is $136,169 - $168,209 and may vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and performance.

Your Opportunity
Greenheck Group is seeking a Plant Manager to provide daily direction and leadership to ensure all operational objectives are accomplished in accordance with the company's targets. Typically oversees one plant location and will directly supervise production leaders and other manufacturing support roles.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Provide direct and indirect supervision and development of manufacturing engineering, materials, production scheduling, production supervisors, and production managers.
- Plan, monitoring, execute, and communicate the daily, monthly, and annual production goals.
- Develop the sales and operations plan to meet financial targets and customer service objectives looking out at a rolling 12-month window.
- Coordinate activities among various internal departments that can affect the production process (i.e. scheduling, engineering, production management, shipping, inventory control, sales, and purchasing).
- Monitor daily and monthly variance to plan, implement capacity adjustments (overtime, flex labor, etc.) to execute S&O Plan and make necessary adjustments.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement activities that enhance our key performance indicators, improve safety culture and/or advance our team member relations. Participate and lead activities relating to the 5S and Safety Teams when necessary.
- Identify and execute continuous improvement projects that achieve productivity goals and maximize efficiency for Value Streams and Production areas.
- Work with Materials team to define procedures to ensure proper inventory management.
- Ensure the proper maintenance and optimal performance of production machinery and equipment.
- Maintain work areas to meet or exceed company 5S and safety standards. Identify and lead safety initiatives to address plant safety concerns, providing oversight to local safety teams and supporting EHS.
- Identify and lead Capital Equipment requests, coordinating with local Manufacturing Engineers and Greenheck Group Shared Services.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement of productivity and efficiencies through effective team member engagement, labor planning, lean manufacturing principles, and materials planning.
- Oversee cross-training plans to encourage continued development of our team members.
- Meet or exceed customer service expectations which include quality and on-time shipping.
- Maintain good working knowledge of current labor policies (where applicable), regional labor policies, and any applicable government regulations. Participate in labor agreement negotiations (where applicable).
- Direct manufacturing engineering functions to improve productivity including plant layout, process flow, routings/labor standards, work methods, capital equipment, and quality levels.
- Optimize machine and equipment as well as provide guidance and support for the corporate maintenance initiatives.
- Represent manufacturing with outside visitors such as company tours, applicants in the interview process or vendors/suppliers as needed.
- Develop rolling 12-month strategic plans for achieving operational excellence in support of business unit, company sales growth targets, and profitability levels.
- Review and manage salary expenditures for assigned cost centers (I.e., salary, merit increases, additions, overtime).
- Work with business unit managers to develop and implement strategic business plans.
- Understand, communicate, and improve business unit financials.
- Work with union leadership to resolve conflicts and improve operations where applicable.
- 4 Year / bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations management, engineering, business administration, management, or a related field of study or equivalent years of job experience required.
- 6-8 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
- 6-8 years of relevant work experience in a supervisory or managerial role is required.
- Ability to interact effectively at all levels of the company.
- Experience with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing projects and training is preferred.
- SAP experience is preferred.
- Must be action-oriented with strong attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
- Minimal travel is required for this role.
