To be accepted as a Refrigeration employee, the applicant must be able to:
- Review refrigeration schematics and BOMS.
- Prepare compressors, assemblies, coaxial condensers and coils.
- Ability to identify refrigeration components.
- Ability to properly mount and install refrigeration or water system components. Ability to read and understand refrigeration schematics.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally.
- Ability to operate overhead crane and other material handling equipment. Strong attention to detail, basic computer and math skills.
- Ability to read measuring devices, understand instructions and use basic hand tools.
- Ability to distinguish pipe sizes and types.
- Ability to braze with different alloys and metals.
- Ability to complete the refrigerant process by wrapping and clamping needed units.
- Must pass in-house brazing test.
- Perform daily housekeeping tasks.
- Be adaptable enough to learn the necessary functions in a timely manner and perform them within accepted output and quality levels.
- Must follow standard safe practices that apply to all activities.
- Cross train in other classifications.
- Lift up to 50 pounds frequently during an 8-hour work shift.
- Bend, stoop, push, and pull in a busy work environment for up to an 8-hour work shift.
- Climb a ladder and/ or scaffolding frequently during an 8-hour work shift.
- Stand for up to an 8-hour work shift.
- Grip, manipulate, and hold small parts with fingers.
- Hear different types of sound/decibels/tone such as alarms, sirens, and/or mechanical equipment.
- See without visual impairments (depth, peripheral, color and acuity 20/40 or better).
