What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Accountant position at Greenlake Senior Living?
Primarily Responsibilities:
· Invoice Processing: Review, verify and process invoices from vendors and suppliers. Ensure that invoices are accurate, complete and in compliance with company policies. Verify coding invoices to the correct general ledger accounts.
· Vendor Management: Maintain and update vendor information in the accounting system. Build and maintain positive relationships with vendors. Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve issues regarding payments and outstanding invoices.
· Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable aging reports to the general ledger. Assist in month-end and year-end closing procedures for accounts payable. Investigate and resolve discrepancies between accounts payable and general ledger balances.
· Expense Reporting: Review employee expense reports, ensuring that they comply with company policies. Process approved expenses reimbursements.
· Maintaining Compliance: Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures and regulations. Help prepare documentation for audits, focusing on accounts payable processes.
· Cash Flow Management: Monitor accounts payable cashflow, helping to optimize payment timing for favorable cashflow management.
· Reporting: Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly accounts payable reports for management. Report on accounts payable metrics (e.g., days payable outstanding, payment trends).
· Tax and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure proper handling of sales tax and other related taxes on invoices. Assist in gathering data for tax filings related to vendor payments.
Skills and Qualifications:
· Strong knowledge of accounts payable procedures and practices.
· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Yardi)
· Familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Education and Experience
· Knowledge of accounting
· Proven experience in accounts payable or accounting roles.
