Our job titles may span more than one career level. The annual salary range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000. The actual salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. This role will provide legal support across various business functions, including marketing, sales, vendor relations, and operations, with a focus on drafting and reviewing contracts, supporting customer and consumer-related issues, and assisting with general company-wide risk management strategies. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, be able to function independently, and have the ability to provide sound legal guidance in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Functions
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including vendor agreements, customer contracts (e.g. master service agreements, easements), and other commercial agreements.
- Ensure customer-facing terms and conditions, form agreements, and other policies are maintained and kept up-to-date with industry standards, changing regulatory requirements, and overall risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide guidance on marketing efforts and sales promotions strategies, including preparation of terms and conditions, preparation of necessary disclosures, and guidance on the content of marketing materials (e.g. trademark law, trade practices).
- Assist in responding to subpoenas, handling litigation, dispute resolution, and regulatory matters.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure business policies and procedures align with legal and business objectives, regulatory requirements, and risk-mitigation strategies.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact company operations.
- Collaborate with external counsel when necessary.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in New York or ability to obtain licensure.
- 5 years of legal experience, preferably with experience in commercial contracting, telecommunications, or technology law.
- Strong contract negotiation and drafting skills.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance matters relevant to the telecommunications industry is a plus.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Must function independently and have the ability to make decisions and provide guidance on routine day-to-day matters without significant supervisory input.
