What are the responsibilities and job description for the Golf Shop Attendant position at Greensboro National Golf Club?
-Golf Shop Attendant
- Collect green fees and cart fees from players before their round.
- Complete regular retail transactions using our POS system.
- Provide a welcoming and warm interaction with all customers.
- Look and act in a professional manner in front of all members, guests, and customers at all times.
- Clean, arrange, and reorganize the golf shop to reflect the current ongoing sales.
- Monitor and maintain the pace of play using our GPS system.
- Answer phone calls about booking tee times, course conditions, etc.
- Monitor and ensure all outside service tasks are completed and kept in top order by cart attendants, starters, and rangers.
- Assist the professional staff with various tasks including league play, paperwork, clinic/camp setup, etc.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Complete cart attendant/starter/ranger duties when needed.
This position is subject to, but not limited to these tasks.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions of extreme cold and heat.
AT-WILL EMPLOYMENT
- North Carolina is an employment-at-will state. This means that in the absence of a contractual agreement between an employer and an employee establishing a definite term of employment, the relationship is presumed to be terminable at the will of either party without regard to the quality of performance of either party.
PROBATIONARY PERIOD
- Every new employee will incur a 90-day probationary period during which the employee will be trained and tested in all areas of the job. During this probationary period, Greensboro National can end the relationship with the employee for any reason at any time. At the end of 90 days, Greensboro National will decide whether to retain or part ways with the employee. If the employee is retained, there is an opportunity for a one-time merit-based raise, if earned based upon review, of up to 5% at the end of the 90-day probationary period.
ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION
- Additional compensation in the form of tips can be earned by providing service to customers. All tips must be appropriately reported for tax purposes.
