Summary :
Job Title : Groundskeeper (School)
Functions : The person in this position is responsible for Lawn and Grounds care at the location to include cutting grass, weed eating and edging, maintaining shrubs and flower beds, making minor repairs such as fencing, signs, street markings, etc.
Qualifications :
1. High School Diploma or GED preferred
2. Demonstrated ability to operate lawn maintenance equipment
3. Ability to read and write to follow written instructions
4. Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a routine basis
5. Willingness to follow directions and perform routine duties with limited supervision
6. Valid South Carolina Driver's License

Reports To : This person is directly responsible to the Plant Engineer
Responsibilities :
Performance Responsibilities :
1. Move furniture, books, materials, and various other supplies
2. Maintain inventory of needed supplies
3. Maintain school grounds by raking and removing debris, trimming shrubs, cutting, edging, and watering grass
4. Maintain flower beds and remove weeds
5. Maintain fences, signs and street markings
6. Make minor repairs to playground equipment
7. Check drains to insure they are open; clear drain passages as needed
8. Salt or shovel snow or ice from sidewalks, walkways, driveways and entryways where needed to insure safety standards
9. Be available for other scheduled use of building
10. Perform custodial duties as needed
11. Perform related duties as required
Other information :
Terms of Employment : Twelve Months with salary in Group E, Support / Hourly Salary Schedule D.
