Job Summary
As a Human Resources Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the HR department with various administrative tasks and projects. You will assist in talent management, employee communications, and ensuring compliance with employment labor laws.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate recruitment efforts by posting job openings, reviewing resumes, background checks, drug screens and scheduling interviews.
- Coordinate new hire onboarding processes, including preparing orientation materials, conducting initial training, generating personnel transactions and documentation.
- Support employee development initiatives and track training completion
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and claims.
- Complete unemployment, verifications of employment and disability claims
- Assist in the preparation of HR metrics and reporting.
- Maintain all employees’ physical and scanned personnel files.
- Supports and participates in risk management programs.
- Support all internal HR related inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs.
- Assist in coordinating employee relations matters and support resolution efforts
- Provide general administrative support to the HR team, including scheduling meetings, meeting minutes, employee events, evaluation reminders and respond to external correspondence.
- Aid in project management tasks related to HR initiatives
Experience
- High School/GED required, Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications or related field preferred.
- 2 years previous experience in an HR role or similar HR position and knowledge in human resources function
- Proficiency in MS Office 365, familiarity with HR software systems is a plus
- Understanding of employment labor laws and regulations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well with employees at all levels.
- Ability to manage priorities and workflow
- Maintain a positive, proactive, and professional demeanor
- Strong people skills and able to follow written and verbal directions.
- Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Occasional travel for meetings or training.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen, criminal background checks and fingerprinting in accordance with all applicable laws regarding the nature of the employment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with HRIS Software. Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR-CA) is a plus.
- Familiarity with the Health Clinic Industry is advantageous.
