What are the responsibilities and job description for the ACCOUNTANT/FISCAL ANALYST II position at Greenville Tech Foundation?
In this challenging role, you will be supporting the FA - Foundation & Alumni department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.
Job Purpose: To perform and/or coordinate complex professional duties in the creation and maintenance of accounting records, the verification and documentation of financial transactions and the preparation and management of budgets for the Greenville Tech Foundation.
Job Functions
- Maintain Accounting System
- Maintain accounting system for Foundation to include: recording and monitoring financial transactions; maintaining chart of accounts; ensuring accurate documentation of all financial transactions; analyzing, recording and processing financial transactions; executing banking transactions between accounts; reconciling general ledger accounts and bank statements; and preparing bank deposits.
- Analyze and investigate complex problems within financial records and communicate issues with supervisors, departments, agencies and bank representatives as needed in an effort to solve problems.
- Accounting Policies & Procedures
- Review and evaluate existing financial policies, programs, plans, systems, operations, procedures and documents to ensure sound internal safeguards and to develop improvements in efficiency, effectiveness and productivity.
- Evaluate and recommend accounting system modifications, policies and program objectives impacting college management, organization and processes.
- Banking Transactions
- Service all assigned accounts on a continuing basis, including the maintenance of current supporting information and the collection of loans in accordance with repayment agreements.
- Maintain accounting systems for the investment and debt management areas and prepare related reports.
- Review and evaluate loan and investment accounts; monitor borrowing compliance with loan agreement terms and conditions.
- Execute banking transactions between accounts.
- Budget and Forecasts.
- Reviews complex budgets for completeness; prepare budgetary report; summarizes budgetary statements of program activities and objectives; develop budgetary forecasts based on review of programmatic needs and requirements and expenditure and funding trends.
- Financial Reporting, Projections and Analysis
- Conduct financial analysis and complex special assignments.
- Analyze, prepare and distribute financial reports, projections and statements for internal and external use, ensuring accuracy in all reporting requirements.
- Compile and analyze monthly financial reports and consolidated statements. Review quarterly statements. Review Foundation's financial status, including loan files, cash and investment accounts.
- Staff Finance/Audit Committee of the Board of Directors and provide quarterly reports and analysis of Foundation accounts.
- Investment Funds
- Staff Investment Committee and work with Foundation management to oversee investment management firm and adherence to Investment Policy Statement.
- Provide available to spend information from individual endowed funds for scholarships and ensure accurate tracking of expenditures for endowed and restricted scholarship funds.
- Audit & Compliance
- Test information contained in financial institution files for validity and accuracy.
- Manage monthly and year-end closing processes. Serve as primary contact for annual audit.
- Maintain compliance with associated federal and state laws, generally accepted accounting principles, and IRS requirements.
