GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
In this challenging role, you will be supporting the BSO - Business Office department at Greenville Technical College. Duties may include any or all of the following.
Reconciles General Ledger accounts, including two high volume, complicated bank statements. Monitor deposits daily & report any discrepancies to the Accounting Manager. Runs daily processes to update all General Ledger accounts. Reviews transactions for accuracy.
Prepares and submits and/or issues federal and state required forms. Prepares use tax report prior to published deadline. Prepares Sales tax & Hospitality tax reconciliation report prior to monthly deadline.
Maintain the active vendors for the college. Includes setting up new vendors in the ERP system, ensuring all vendors have a current W9 on file, and are classified correctly. Prepares and distributes 1099 forms to all applicable vendors prior to established due date.
Performs monthly reconciliations for select Balance sheet receivable accounts.
Monitors Positive Pay and checks for daily alerts from the bank. Research reasons for alerts and reports findings to the Accounting Manager prior to the daily deadline.
Prepares monthly, quarterly and year-end journal entries for information not automatically captured in Colleague. This includes information from the Bookstore, Café, and Corporate and Continuing Education. Prepares assigned footnotes and year end allocations.
Perform benefit and payroll general ledger reconciliations monthly. Work with payroll and HR to correct any issues.
Other duties as assigned including, but not limited to, providing assistance in other financial areas during peak times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A high school diploma and professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's of Science degree in Accounting plus 2 or more years relevant accounting experience
