Greenville University are seeking to fill a full-time position with expertise in Chemistry (open rank). The successful candidate will invigorate our major in chemistry through a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students in a robust Christ-centered learning community.
Additionally the candidate will also have a passion to develop the creative minds of undergraduate students within a Christian worldview.
Department of Biology & Chemistry:
Greenville University offers a B.A. in Chemistry, which typically serves students with interests in pre-health fields, graduate school, or industry careers. The Chemistry Program collaborates closely with Biology faculty under the Department of Biology & Chemistry. The department is well-equipped with instrumentation and also has some internal support for faculty research projects.
The primary responsibilities of the position include:
- Teaching Chemistry in the following areas: Physical Chemistry, General Chemistry, upper-division Analytical Chemistry courses (including Instrumental Analysis and/or Quantitative Analysis)
- The selected candidate may also contribute to teaching general education science courses.
- Supervise lab activities with a focus on lab safety.
- Providing academic and career advising to students in chemistry, pray with them, and help them in their academic and spiritual formation.
- Serving on Department and University committees.
- Performing other responsibilities as defined by the University.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in Chemistry; an earned doctorate preferred.
- A commitment to teaching excellence in an undergraduate, liberal arts program.
- Knowledge of the field with a record of scholarship and a willingness to conduct summer research in an undergraduate setting.
- A demonstrated, vibrant Christian faith compatible with the mission of Greenville University.
- Ability to engage in critical thinking and exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage confidential information.
- Self-starter, ability to communicate effectively in written and oral form.

Salary Range: $48,700-$58,000/ Annually. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions and department budget.
