What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor of Chemistry position at Lincoln University of Missouri?
Purpose:
Replacement faculty position in Chemistry to fill teaching needs. This is a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track position in the STM department. This position will be supporting the Master of Science in Natural Sciences and undergraduate programs including those in Chemistry, Agriculture, Nursing, Education, and the various pre-professional programs on campus.
Essential Job Functions:
- Full-time, nine-month, tenure-track appointment teaching a full-time load.
- Expectations include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in general, physical and/or organic chemistry and development of an active, externally funded research program with the ability to include undergraduate research.
- Lincoln University faculty are expected to also advise and mentor students and serve on departmental and institutional committees. Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience in a variety of chemistry areas.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
All duties pertinent to teaching, including curriculum development, mentoring, advising, participating in program assessment and review and maintaining office hours will be required. This appointment will include an expectation of involvement in undergraduate clubs or organizations and the possibility of advising one of these organizations.
Qualifications:
- PhD. in Chemistry, Organic, Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, or a related area is required.
- Post-doctoral experience is a plus.
- Ability to work with a diverse student and faculty body is desired.
- Prior teaching experience is strongly desired.
- The ability to work with a diverse range of student preparation in the classroom is a plus.
- Interest in developing a research program which can incorporate undergraduate students is strongly desired.
