Title : VP of Fixed and Mobile Assets

FLSA Status : Exempt

Reports To : Chief Operating Officer

Pay : $250,000-$320,000 / year.

We are seeking an experienced, successful, and engaged VP of Fixed and Mobile Assets to join our team. This position is expected to work out of our office at 224 Airport Parkway Suite 250, San Jose, CA 95110 and limited job-related travel may be required.

Position Summary :

GreenWaste is seeking to fill the newly created position of VP of Fixed and Mobile Assets. The Vice President, Fixed and Mobile Assets will be responsible for enterprise-wide asset management with the role's main function supporting the standardization and optimization of fixed and mobile assets,

The central challenge of the role is to set and implement an enterprise asset management strategy, optimize asset productivity, and cost, and ensure safe, reliable operations. Additionally, the Vice President Fixed & Mobile Assets will work to implement standardized Asset procurement practices and provide best practice functional leadership to our Maintenance teams.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities :

Functional Leadership

  • In collaboration with Corporate and Regional management teams, develop the business and operating strategy for the Asset Management function, including mobile fleet planning & procurement, asset maintenance, fleet management and maintenance talent management.
  • Define overall corporate priorities for improving asset quality, reliability, safety and availability, while minimizing capital expense, operating expense and asset intensity.
  • Translate priorities into initiatives and actions that will deliver performance objectives.
  • Ensure alignment, ownership, and accountability for plans across functional and field business units.
  • Define and ensure adherence to the Company's policies, standards, processes and systems requirements, and reduce or eliminate regional variances in fleet maintenance through greater standardization.

Mobile Fleet Management

  • Develop strategies for specific fleet management activities (e.g., on and off-road fleet standardization, repair specialization, tire / track programs, asset retirement and disposal, etc.).
  • Drive standardization to reduce acquisition and maintenance cost, and complexity.
  • Identify and develop strategic vendor relationships. Define supplier management processes to include co-engineering, quality performance, delivery performance, dealer service effectiveness, recall campaigns, training, and warranty.
  • Ensure deployment and execution of fleet management systems.
  • Fixed Plant Management.

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize fixed asset utilization & efficiency & repairs and maintenance.
  • Drive standardization to reduce acquisition and maintenance cost, and complexity.
  • Identify and develop strategic vendor relationships. Define supplier management processes to include co-engineering, quality performance, delivery performance, dealer service effectiveness, recall campaigns, training, and warranty.
  • Ensure deployment and execution of asset management systems.
  • Procurement

  • Implement standardized procurement practices as it relates to relevant fleet. Work cross functionally to deliver optimized asset procurement.
  • Maintenance Shops

  • Provide functional leadership to maintenance shops to drive standard work practices, best practice knowledge transfer as well as standardized part procurement.
  • Develop reporting tools to monitor maintenance spend.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities :

  • An ability to direct and lead the shop teams with a safety-first approach.
  • The ability to work well with other employees in a team environment and communicate to ensure safety is our top priority.
  • Knowledge of laws, rules, ordinances, legislative processes surrounding solid waste, materials management, safety, management functions, programs, and operations.
  • Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • This role will be required to work closely with the VP of Collections & VP of Post Collections as well as functional leads from all departments and external service provision companies.
  • Qualifications :

  • At least 10 years of industry-related experience including three years in senior management required.
  • Valid Class C Driver's License with a safe driving record.
  • Requires extensive knowledge of mobile assets and fixed plant optimization.
  • Experience with implementation, start-ups, RFP and growth opportunities and acquisitions.
  • Language Skill :

  • Proficiency in English
  • Spanish beneficial
  • Physical Demands :

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time and meet with operations team throughout California.
  • Ability to physically push, pull and lift objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Work Environment :

    The typical work week is Monday through Friday. May be exposed to potentially dangerous machinery, hazardous materials, and extreme weather conditions. Ability to work in setting with frequent changes in equipment, start / end time, service city / town and routes based on the operational needs for the day and or week. Early mornings, weekend and / or late evenings as needed to ensure team safety.

    Compensation and Benefits :

    Financial compensation will be commensurate with applicable experience.
