About the Role:
Supermicro is seeking a detail-oriented Contractor working in the Fixed assets accounting area. This role is crucial for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strict compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining a comprehensive asset registry. You will help to apply a methodical approach to the entire asset lifecycle, focusing on accurate recording, depreciation, and process optimization within the accounting function. Your responsibilities include maintaining impeccable asset records, supporting asset-related accounting processes, and ensuring the financial integrity of asset data. This position directly supports the Accounting Department's objectives by guaranteeing accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in asset tracking and reporting for financial statement purposes. The ideal candidate should possess an understanding of asset management, financial reporting principles.
This role is primarily office-based, focusing on accounting and record-keeping activities, with potential for occasional collaboration with operations for asset verification.
What You'll Do:
This role will be integral to the Accounting Department's oversight of Supermicro's extensive asset base, including server hardware components, finished goods, and manufacturing equipment. Specific activities will include:
- Maintaining and meticulously managing Supermicro's fixed asset records within SAP, ensuring accurate recording, classification, valuation, and depreciation calculations in accordance with accounting policies.
- Diligently tracking and supporting the accounting for asset acquisitions, transfers, and disposals, ensuring strict compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Performing regular and thorough reconciliations of asset records with the general ledger and relevant supporting documentation.
- Collaborating with operations to ensure accurate information flow regarding asset installations and movements for proper accounting treatment.
- Partnering effectively with finance, procurement, and operations teams to ensure the proper recording and comprehensive reporting of all company assets in the financial statements.
- Generating and analyzing asset reports specifically for accounting and financial reporting purposes, providing insights for accurate financial planning and analysis.
- Assisting with financial audits by preparing all necessary asset documentation and reports for auditors.
- Ensuring strict compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations concerning asset management and depreciation policies from an accounting perspective.
- Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous process improvements within asset accounting and NetSuite workflows related to fixed assets.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Strong proficiency in SAP is preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skills, with a focus on financial accuracy.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders within the context of accounting processes.
- Excellent organizational and meticulous documentation skills, with a focus on maintaining auditable records.
Salary Range
$50 to $60
The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role.
