Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage IEPs through the creating and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student with special needs.
- Monitor student progress through tracking and assessing student development, making necessary adjustments to keep them on the path to success.
- Responsible for managing challenging behaviors and implementing behavior support plans.
- Work closely with paraprofessionals, support staff, and parents to build a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
- Create a positive and engaging learning space where every student feels supported and can thrive.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education, Literature, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Proven experience in developing, implementing, and managing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Valid Connecticut state endorsement 165-Special Education: Comprehensive, grades K-12 or Valid Connecticut state endorsement 015: English 7-12 or eligibility for certification in the state of Connecticut
- Strong communication skills for effectively engaging with students, parents, and staff.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for Special Education, demonstrated by patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students with special needs succeed.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, enthusiastic style to fit with our small-team environment
