In this part-time position you will be required to inspect loads of solid waste for unacceptable items and directs traffic to proper disposal areas. Reports to the Landfill Supervisor.
Works under close supervision according to set procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
Essential Functions:
- Inspects incoming loads of solid waste for unacceptable items.
- Reports and documents all unacceptable items.
- Instructs drivers where to safely unload solid waste.
- Exercises care and safety in the use of equipment and tools required to complete job tasks.
- Interprets and enforces safety policies and procedures.
- Interacts and communicates with co-workers, supervisors, and waste haulers.
Additional Duties:
- Performs related work as assigned.

Equipment usage involves responsibility for materials, machines, tools, equipment, work aids, and products.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
- Requires a high school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- No prior experience is required.
