Irrigation Technician

Job Summary

Greenworks Landscaping is seeking a reliable and experienced Irrigation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing monthly property visit diagnoses, periodic residential service calls, and making necessary fixtures and repairs as specified by customers. The technician will also prepare quotes for clients and obtain necessary approvals. This role requires a strong understanding of irrigation systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

- Monthly Property Visit Diagnosis: Conduct thorough monthly inspections of irrigation systems on commercial properties to identify any issues or potential improvements.

- Periodic Residential Service Calls: Respond to residential service calls as needed, providing timely and effective solutions to irrigation problems.

- Fixtures and Repairs: Perform necessary repairs and installations of irrigation systems, ensuring all work meets the specified contract amount and customer expectations.

- Customer Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs, provide recommendations, and explain the scope of work performed.

- Quote Preparation: Prepare detailed quotes for irrigation system repairs and installations, and obtain client approvals before commencing work.

- System Troubleshooting: Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with irrigation systems, including leaks, clogs, and malfunctioning components.

- Maintenance and Upgrades: Conduct routine maintenance checks and recommend upgrades to improve system efficiency and performance.

- Documentation: Maintain notes on system and accurate records of all work performed, including materials used, time spent, and any issues encountered.

- Equipment Care: Maintain and care for company equipment, tools, and vehicles, ensuring they are in good working condition.

- Professionalism: Always represent Greenworks Landscaping with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

Requirements:

- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in irrigation system installation, maintenance, and repair.

- Education: High school diploma or GED; additional training in irrigation or landscaping is preferred.

- Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Physical Ability: Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.

- Licenses: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; backflow certification is preferred.

- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in using irrigation system software and tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Customer Service: Background in customer service and the ability to provide exceptional client experiences.

- Estimating and Job Costing: Experience in preparing estimates and job costing for irrigation projects.

- Horticulture Knowledge: Understanding of landscape materials and horticulture practices.

Pay: $21.00 - $24.00 per hour
