Lawn Maintenance Crew Leader

We are searching for a thorough, green-fingered Crew Leader to help in maintaining the property of our customers. As a leader of a lawn care crew you will be responsible for operating a F-250 with a 16 foot tandem axle trailer (be able to proficiently back-up with trailer attached), aid in training specialists and technicians, preparing truck prior to crew reporting, trimming grass and shrubbery, removing trash from the vicinity of worksite, performing certain tasks within the HR management app that we utilize, and ensuring that implements are stored correctly for transportation. Although you are a Crew Leader, this is a lead technician position, and you will be expected to share the workload of daily operations with your crew.

Job Summary
As a Lawn Care Crew Leader, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing a team of lawn care technicians to deliver high-quality lawn care services to our clients. Your role will involve coordinating daily activities, ensuring efficient operations, and providing guidance to crew members while operating lawn equipment so that you share the workload with your crew members. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in lawn care maintenance, strong leadership skills, and a passion for creating beautiful outdoor spaces.

To ensure success as a crew leader and become a viable member of our team, you should be patient, nurturing, possess leadership skills, and be thoroughly knowledgeable about the vegetation of our local climate. Ultimately, an outstanding Lawn Care Crew Leader will work to protect our fauna and service our client base.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership

• Lead a team of lawn care technicians, providing guidance, training, and support.
• Assign tasks to crew members and ensure proper distribution of workload.
• Motivate and inspire the crew to achieve performance goals and maintain a positive work environment.
• Conduct regular team meetings to communicate expectations, provide updates, and address any concerns.

Client Service

• Interact with clients to understand their lawn care needs and address any questions or concerns.
• Ensure exceptional customer service and maintain professional relationships with clients.
• Provide recommendations and guidance to clients regarding lawn care treatments, landscaping options, and maintenance practices.

Lawn Care Operations

• Perform and oversee various lawn care tasks, including: mowing, edging, trimming, fertilizing, weed control, and irrigation system maintenance.
• Operate and maintain lawn care equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety protocols.
• Monitor crew members' work to ensure quality standards are met and follow up on any necessary corrections.
• Implement efficient work schedules and routes to maximize productivity and meet client expectations.
• Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment, coordinating with the supervisor to ensure timely restocking and maintenance.

Safety and Compliance

• Promote and enforce safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.
• Be actively engaged within our safety management system (SMS).
• Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions for the crew.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.

Quality Control

• Conduct regular inspections to ensure the quality and accuracy of work performed.
• Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures to maintain high standards.
• Monitor lawn conditions, pest infestations, and disease outbreaks, and recommend appropriate treatment plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (relevant certifications or coursework in horticulture or landscaping is a plus).
• Proven experience in lawn care maintenance, including mowing, trimming, fertilization, and weed control.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage a team.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of lawn care equipment, maintenance, and safety protocols.
• Customer-oriented approach with the ability to provide exceptional service and address client concerns.
• Physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required to qualify for this position.
