Key Responsibilities:
Compliance & Labor Laws:
- Assist in ensuring company policies and procedures comply with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations.
- Regularly review and update HR policies to reflect changes in employment laws, maintaining compliance across all functions.
- Support the management of HR compliance audits, addressing potential risks and maintaining an ethical work environment.
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters, including investigations, grievances, and disciplinary actions.
- Support compliance efforts for Architectural and Engineering licensing.
- Manage employee visas and sponsorships as well as coordinate with legal team to provide accurate information on time.
Employee Benefits:
- Help manage and administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness programs, and paid time off.
- Communicate benefits options effectively to employees and support open enrollment periods, addressing questions and concerns.
- Monitor industry trends in benefits and suggest adjustments to current offerings as needed.
- Assist in managing vendor relationships and ensuring benefits programs align with company goals.
Recruitment & Hiring:
- Assist in recruitment efforts by creating job descriptions, posting openings, and coordinating the interview and hiring process.
- Collaborate with management to understand talent needs and ensure recruitment strategies support organizational goals.
- Ensure recruitment practices align with diversity, equity, and inclusion goals.
- Support the onboarding process for new hires to ensure smooth integration into the company.
Employee Development & HR Strategy:
- Assist in the development and implementation of employee training and development programs to improve skills and performance.
- Contribute to performance management efforts, including coaching and career development for employees.
- Collaborate with leadership to align HR strategies with business goals and foster employee engagement.
- Help create a positive workplace culture through effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution.
General HR Operations & Leadership:
- Assist in maintaining accurate HR records and employee files, ensuring compliance with relevant legal requirements.
- Support HR-related projects from planning through execution, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance to junior HR staff, supporting their growth and development in HR best practices.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on employee relations, organizational development, and HR strategy.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in human resources, with a focus on compliance, employee benefits, recruitment, and employee relations.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR certifications (PHR, SHRM-CP) are a plus.
