On-site position – Paralegal – Legal Assistant
Would you like to work as a paralegal or legal assistant at a boutique law firm in downtown Washington, D.C. and assist with high-profile personal injury cases all over the country? The ideal applicant is mature, experienced at working in various office settings, and has a good sense of humor. The firm is located at 1920 L St., N.W., Washington, DC (Metro accessible) and the office attire is casual.
The compensation package consists of competitive base pay commensurate with experience (starting salary at least $65,000.00), a bonus structure, 17 days of PTO, 10 office holidays, group health insurance plan, vision insurance, dental insurance, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan.
Prior legal experience is required, and the applicant should expect to become increasingly familiar with the subject matter and become increasingly independent. The ideal candidate welcomes increasing responsibility, enjoys novel work challenges, and would like to manage a fast-paced workflow.
The work includes managing case files, communicating with clients, drafting correspondence and pleadings, and managing attorney calendars. You must have strong communication skills and be energetic, detail-oriented, and enjoy working with a team. The ideal candidate must be organized and efficient, be able to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks based on urgency and due dates, have excellent phone skills, be competent with email and Microsoft Office, and be able to follow directions from supervising attorneys.
