Job Description:
- Monitor and understand all processes being performed within the controlling department
- Analyze business statistics, trends and drivers
- Review current and future business initiatives for financial impact
- Report financial information and analysis to executive management
- Prepare, supervise and review preparation of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and reporting packages in accordance with US-GAAP and HGB (German Accounting Standard)
- Assist with tax matters, such as assuring accurate and timely completion of all corporate tax returns and other regulatory filings
- Supervise, coordinate and assist with all aspects of the financials, forecasts, budgets as well as strategic financial planning
- Support treasury function as banking liaison and relationship manager
- Serve as liaison for the Company’s external auditors and subsidiary company (MCS)
- Proactively identify and implement internal process improvements in order to optimize efficiencies, improve the quality of analysis and reports
- Ability to analyze large amounts of data
- Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to direct and supervise
- Ability to multi-task and adhere to strict deadlines
- Support Project Managers with all project information and/or ERP/SAP project information
- Issue Customer Invoices for all projects
- Review/discuss open projects in A/R and A/P with Project Manager and/or customers
- Use ERP system to set up new Sales Orders, complete Order Income Reports, manage liquidity plan and project payments
- Complete monthly job cost reporting-reviews for accuracy/resolves discrepancies
- Prepare Work In-Process WIP files and all subsequent project cost files
- Determine and implement cost accounting procedures and methods
- Prepare warranty report, profit forecast and other financial reports for the month end
- Maintain project budgets and compares actual/sales contracts
- Report and remit state sales tax monthly
- Proven analytical and numbers aptitude
- Thorough understanding of the accounting process
- Strong attention to detail with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent PC skills (especially in Excel) and working knowledge of ERP systems (SAP experience a plus)
- Well organized and able to manage multiple tasks and projects
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting within a manufacturing environment
