What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kitchen Cabinet Designer position at Gretchen Simon Interiors?
We are seeking a Kitchen & Bath Designer/Drafter with experience in high-end, custom/luxury cabinets to support growth in our Full-Service Interior Design business.
The Kitchen & Bath Designer and Drafter will create drawings, create 3D models, and produce renderings. The Drafter will be responsible for creating accurate, detailed, and legible drawings and layouts for the project.
Kitchen & Bath Designer candidate should have kitchen/bath design experience, relative degree preferred, and demonstrate the following skill set consistently:
- Proficient use of software including but not limited to: 20/20, Planet, Auto Cad, or Chief Architect, Sketchup, Revit
- Cabinetry design and specification experience
- Thrive in an energetic and fast-paced environment
- Design cabinetry using 20/20 software
- Quote and manage the full cycle ordering process for all Kitchen, Bath, and other Cabinet products
- Skilled at coordinating multiple projects at one time
- Detailed oriented, self-motivated, organized
- Positive attitude, work as part of a team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Drafting or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Layout and Plan interior room arrangements for residential homes.
- Draw rough and detailed scale plans based on preliminary concepts, sketches, calculations, and other data.
- Experience in high-end kitchen cabinet design
- Obtain and assemble data to complete architectural designs in order to compile measurements.
- Determine procedures and instructions to be followed, based on design specifications.
- Continuously communicate with others to ensure requirements are met, and projects are on schedule.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, plans, and instructions.
- Ability to use a tape measure to measure parts accurately.

- Knowledge of materials, finishes, and hardware used in kitchen cabinet manufacturing
- Strong understanding of market trends in kitchen design
Responsibilities
- Develop overall and detailed drawings of cabinetry based off of architectural drawings. These drawings will be complete with plan, elevation, section, and detail views.
- Be able to make continuous changes based on clients desired outcome.
