Description :
The Senior Recipe Developer / Editor is responsible for researching, developing, writing and editing recipes in accordance with client expectations under the direction of the Test Kitchen Director and Project Executive Editor. Maintains accuracy and integrity of final recipes before going to print, digital or video.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities :
RECIPES : Recipe Development & Oversight : Oversees recipe development, recipe writing and editing for print, digital, video and / or product extensions, as assigned.
Research and pitches recipes and food stories and / or recipes
- Develops and tests recipes according to established method
- Writes recipes using correct style
- Verifies facts, dates and statistics using approved reference sources
- Read copy and proof to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation and syntax
- Delivers recipes to Test Kitchen Director and Project Leads for review and approval
PHOTOGRAPHY : Assists with photography as assigned. This may include planning, propping, managing the kitchen / food shoots, advising the proper way to photograph food, etc.
Prepares for photography days and works with the Test Kitchen Director, Project Leads, other staff in sharing responsibility for photo shootsIn conjunction with other staff maintains a clean and safe kitchen and studio work environmentOther Responsibilities :

Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Food Sciences, Culinary Arts, or related field (or equivalent experience)Minimum of 3 years of editorial experience, consumer magazine experience a plusExperience developing, writing, and editing recipes for brands or publicationsBackground in food editingBroad cooking experience helpfulUnderstand how to use Adobe InDesign for entering text within layoutsA solid understanding of grammar and the Chicago style manualExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong attention to detail in recipe testing, reading, writing, and editingHighly motivated with ability to work in a collaborative manner to meet client deadlinesAbility to maintain a positive can-do attitudeStrong organizational and time-management skillsAbility to purchase and carry groceriesPhysical capability to meet the demands of the position such as being able to walk, stand for long periods, remove items from cupboards, carry groceries, clean kitchen, drive, etc.J-18808-Ljbffr
