Description
Position Title: Vice President, Sales & Marketing
Department: Sales & Marketing
Position reports to: Vice President & General Manager
Primary purpose and function of position:
- Lead all Sales & Marketing efforts for Company operations in both Missouri and Illinois
- Serve on the Executive Committee and contribute to strategy and business planning
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct efforts and accountability of the Sales & Marketing Department to achieve all sales related objectives & KPI’s including revenue, volume, share, distribution, shelf space, and taps across retail channels and approximately 3,000 retail accounts
- Direct, lead, motivate, retain and develop a high performing and functioning Sales and Marketing team including selection, training and performance management
- Oversee and develop direct reports to achieve company objectives
- Develop, implement, and monitor sales incentive programs for all suppliers, brands and packages
- Establish and monitor quality control standards specifically product freshness and FPL (finished product loss)
- Responsible for successful execution of National and Local trade marketing programs
- Manage relationships with suppliers and field sales teams
- Develop and maintain strong retailer relationships
- Direct brand and package pricing strategies
- Develop annual sales volume and departmental expense budgets
- Expense and revenue management (pricing and discounting)
- Prepare monthly variance reports, volume projections, and other analytical reports as needed
- Maintain retail call frequency and other standards, as required by Grey Eagle and Anheuser-Busch Equity Agreement
- Ensure team complies with all Grey Eagle and ABI quality standards and policies including Wholesaler Equity Agreement and Ambassadors of Excellence requirements
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state legal guidelines and local laws
- Serve on the Executive and Leadership Teams
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 7-10 years Sales and/or Marketing management experience preferably in the beer or consumer products industry
- Excellent strategic analysis and critical thinking skills
- Professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills
- Highly organized with ability to manage priorities and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong communication & customer orientation skills
- Knowledge of budget development and management
- Knowledge of local, state and federal liquor laws
- Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work additional hours as necessary
