The Opportunity…
Reporting to the Co-Executive Director, the Senior Outreach Manager for the Tribal program is a remote position, based in Albuquerque, NM. The Senior Outreach Manager will work directly with the Co-Executive Director and other team members to support the National Tribal Program outreach and engagement activities. This position is responsible for developing and managing the Outreach and Engagement Program and outreach strategies across multiple tribal programs. In addition, this person will participate in and actively support leadership and talent development for GRID Tribal. This position is funded under the Solar for All Grant and is employed the length of the grant period (maximum 5 years), with the possibility of extension, to perform essential duties related to GRID’s work plan and scope

Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee all Tribal Outreach and Engagement Program initiatives, ensuring alignment with the GRID National Tribal Program's objectives.
- Supervise, mentor, and support tribal outreach staff, setting team and individual goals, supporting work plans, fostering professional growth and development.
- Serve as the primary point of contact and tribal liaison for guiding tribal projects and programs, building strong relationships with Tribal Nations, tribal leadership groups, community-based partnerships, and other tribal-serving stakeholders who can assist in promoting the National Tribal Program and providing additional support for tribal projects.
- Oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive Tribal Outreach and Engagement Strategy to support the National Tribal Program’s outreach goals and objectives effectively and efficiently maximize successful project outcomes
- Lead efforts by collaborating with senior leadership to develop and expand initiatives, incorporating innovative strategies to meet long-term tribal outreach goals.
- Delegate tasks, monitor, measure, manage and evaluate the performance of tribal outreach and engagement activities and progress including residential rooftop, community solar, and multifamily unit programs.
- Ensure tribal outreach project milestones, budgets, and deliverables are met while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Oversee tribal outreach intake process and the client acquisition process, utilizing Salesforce CRM to track progress and measure outcomes for tribal projects, leads, and campaigns.
- Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and conferences, articulating the importance of renewable energy access for tribal communities.
- Oversee the creation of client stories, outreach marketing materials, internal platforms like Haystack, and program branding in collaboration with the Communications department.
- Lead and execute the development of outreach plans, guidebooks, and materials to effectively engage tribal communities.
- Oversee collaboration between Tribal and all headquarters departments including regional offices, especially, to ensure consistency and efficiency in tribal outreach efforts.
- Oversee outreach and engagement initiatives regarding the outreach-specific activities and deliverables for Federal Programs: WIN-SFA and METRA, SFA.
- Manage southwest GRID Tribal Regional Office by coordinating tasks for setting up infrastructure, office equipment, leasing and permitting and other related office space documents and tasks. Responsible for maintaining office space leasing requirements.
What you need to bring to this role...
- Proven leadership experience in managing outreach programs, community engagement initiatives, projects, and teams.
- Passion for Tribal energy sovereignty, environmental justice, sustainability, and renewable energy access.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with experience building lasting relationships with diverse tribal communities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams and priorities simultaneously.
- Experience with public speaking, facilitating meetings, and presenting to diverse audiences, and representing organizations at external events.
- Proficient in CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce), Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and other relevant tools.
- Experience developing professional publications, reports, and grant proposals.
- Ability to work both independently and with minimal supervision
- Ability to lead and facilitate public speaking
- Writing skills for professional articles, publications, grants, reports, and tribally related material
It would be great if you also had…
- Community planning experience, preferably with tribal communities
- At least 5 years of relevant experience working with tribal communities, tribal-led organizations
- Experience and knowledge of solar PV industry
- Experience and knowledge of tribal economic development and tribal energy.
Where you will sit & the places you may go…
This is a hybrid position, requiring work in our Albuquerque, New Mexico office at least 50% and remote work 50% of the time. Relocation assistance offered if necessary for moving. Travel is required at least 50% out-of-town to Tribal lands, conferences, site visits, regional offices and special projects. Availability to work nights and weekends may be required. GRID Alternatives may provide vehicles for work travel and/or travel reimbursement for personal vehicle use. Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license and a good driving record to be considered.

This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Salary commensurate with experience within the pay range of ($80,000-$90,000) plus the benefits listed below.
