The Program Overview
Grid United has numerous large-scale transmissions projects under development and is currently identifying and studying additional prospective projects across North America. Our team works at the intersection of innovation and collaboration to tackle some of the most exciting challenges in energy infrastructure. Through our 2025 Internship Program, we aim to provide students with meaningful, hands-on experience while gaining fresh perspectives from emerging talent.
The 2025 Internship Program is designed for undergraduate and graduate students seeking to contribute to impactful projects, develop professional skills, and explore potential career paths. Interns will work closely with experts across departments, gaining real-world exposure in their fields of interest.

Internship Opportunities by Department
1. Transmission Planning
o Responsibilities:
- Assist with power system modeling, simulations, and analysis.
- Contribute to feasibility studies and grid infrastructure planning projects.
- Present findings to internal teams for review and collaboration.
o Preferred Candidates:
- Undergraduate students (junior/senior) or graduate students studying Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
2. GIS (Geographic Information Systems)
o Responsibilities:
- Support mapping and spatial analysis for project development.
- Assist in creating and maintaining geospatial databases.
- Provide insights for route optimization and project planning.
o Preferred Candidates:
- Undergraduate students (junior/senior) or graduate students studying GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, or related disciplines.
3. Commercial Analytics
o Responsibilities:
- Conduct market research and analyze energy trends.
- Support financial modeling and data visualization efforts.
- Collaborate on commercial strategy and investment planning.
o Preferred Candidates:
- Open to both undergraduate (junior/senior) and graduate students with strong analytical and business acumen.
4. Communications
o Responsibilities:
- Develop content for internal and external communication channels.
- Assist with public relations campaigns and social media strategies.
- Create compelling narratives to promote company initiatives.
o Preferred Candidates:
- Graduate students (preferred) or undergraduate students (junior/senior) pursuing a degree in Liberal Arts, Communications, Journalism, or similar fields.
5. Development
o Responsibilities:
- Assist on development of transmission projects
- Participate in conversations with stakeholders about project needs (land, commercial, project management, environmental, etc.)
- Assist on efforts to obtain local, state and federal approvals.
o Preferred Candidates:
- Graduate students (preferred) or undergraduate students (junior/senior) pursuing a degree in Engineering, Economics, Business, or similar fields.
