What’s this role about?
We are seeking an experienced Utilities Demand Response (DR) Business Development Manager to lead and expand our demand response initiatives. This pivotal role involves building and strengthening strategic relationships with key utilities, identifying new business opportunities within the DR market, and driving sales growth through effective partnership development.
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of energy markets, demand response programs, and the regulatory landscape. You should have a proven track record in managing utility and large-scale energy accounts, with the ability to develop tailored solutions that meet client needs and maximize participation in demand response schemes.
In this role, you will promote GridBeyond’s suite of demand response and flexible energy solutions, including Battery Storage, Optimization, Forecasting, and Market Participation services, to utility companies and large energy consumers. You will manage strategic relationships, identify market opportunities, and develop initiatives aligned with clients’ energy management objectives. Leveraging your industry knowledge and network, you will attract new utility partners, expand existing accounts, and lead growth initiatives. Additionally, you will be responsible for developing sales forecasts and revenue projections to support our strategic goals.
This position requires a confident, proactive individual with excellent stakeholder engagement skills, particularly when interacting with senior utility executives and decision-makers. You should be assertive in pursuing partnership opportunities, committed to delivering customer-centric solutions, and adept at collaborating with internal sales and technical teams. Your experience navigating complex sales processes and crafting tailored proposals will be essential to successfully expanding our demand response partnerships and driving mutual value.
What will I be doing?
- Lead development and execution of a comprehensive account management strategy to strengthen relationships with key utility clients and promote Demand Response programs.
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities within the utility sector to meet sales targets and expand market presence.
- Engage with senior utility stakeholders, participate in industry events, and build strategic alliances to enhance brand visibility and foster collaboration.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop customized solutions addressing client-specific needs and maximizing value.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities and synergies aligned with industry trends and client priorities.
- Use Salesforce CRM to manage client interactions and monitor sales activities effectively.
- Provide market insights and forecasts to support growth strategies across the utility landscape.
- Advocate for the company’s brand within the utility industry to increase awareness and market share, positioning as a trusted partner.
- Leverage extensive utility account management experience to formulate and implement targeted growth strategies for major utility clients.
