What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Based Counselor position at Griffith Centers?
The Clinical Program Manager is responsible for directly supervising clinical therapists in the department (employees and contractors) through leadership, management, and holding the team accountable for assigned data and tasks. The Clinical Program Manager is responsible for the development and evaluation of the outpatient clinical service providers. This position works independently and demonstrates solid leadership and clinical skills.

- Salary range: $50,000/yr - $55,000/yr. based on working 44 weeks out of the year (8 weeks off in the summer).

Responsibilities:
- Delivers a comprehensive range of counseling services to children and adolescents in a school-based setting, addressing their diverse emotional and behavioral needs.
- Establishes and maintains effective, collaborative relationships with school and district professionals to ensure seamless integration of mental health services.
- Maintains contacts with relevant persons and agencies that impact child and family functioning to coordinate service delivery and develop resources for effective discharge planning.
- Ensures timely and accurate completion of all client-related documentation, adhering to regulatory standards and best practices.
- Actively participates in regular supervision sessions, attends team meetings, and engages in professional development opportunities, including Griffith Centers and school district meetings/trainings.
- Demonstrates thorough understanding of and compliance with all applicable school district policies and regulations.
- Orchestrates service delivery for assigned cases, collaborating effectively with other staff members involved in the youth's and family's care.
- Provides comprehensive oversight of the mental health needs for all assigned students and families, offering recommendations and follow-up support as necessary.
- Delivers immediate, effective crisis intervention for students experiencing emotional or social distress, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
- Develops and implements strategic crisis intervention plans in close collaboration with school staff to address students' urgent needs promptly and effectively.
- Conducts individual and group counseling sessions using brief, solution-focused approaches to address social and emotional concerns, referring students to specialized behavioral health services when appropriate.
- Assesses students facing challenges and develops personalized intervention plans tailored to their unique needs.
- Facilitates conflict resolution among students and promotes positive peer relationships to foster a supportive school environment.
- Designs and delivers Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons in classrooms and student groups, utilizing district-approved SEL curriculum to enhance students' emotional intelligence and social skills.
- Demonstrates a strong commitment to teamwork, willingly going above and beyond to support our agency, the school district, and our clients, embodying the spirit of dedication and service.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Proficient in rules, regulations and best practice standards as outlined by local, state, and federal agencies.
- Ability to maintain healthy emotional and physical boundaries in personal and professional relationships
- Ability to work with sensitivity to the cultural and/or socioeconomic diversity of the agencys clients and staff.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and trust.
- Valid drivers license and insurance with the ability to travel on behalf of the organization.
- Must pass a background check, drug screening, and physical exam.
- Masters degree in social work, Counseling or Psychology from a regionally accredited college or university required.
- Must have the capability to register in DORA as Registered Psychotherapist, LMFT, LPCC, LPC, LSW, LCSW or licensed candidate. Clinical internship and two or more years of clinical counseling experience preferred.
