Position Summary : The ISDenver counselor provides social-emotional support, consultation, and intervention services to promote nurturing environments and relationships among children, families, and staff; provides prevention based social emotional and behavior support to families and children; helps provide skills to staff and families around social and emotional development.

Overview :
- Provide research-based social emotional and behavior support to families and children through individual and group sessions
- Provide skills to staff and families around social and emotional development.
- Provide social emotional support, consultation, and intervention services to promote nurturing environments and relationships among children, families and staff.
- Provide support and coaching to teachers and other staff with implementing SEL, classroom management strategies, and executive functionings techniques
- Facilitate group counseling / behavior sessions, including lunch groups, social skills groups, or affinity groups
- Push in regularly to each classroom for SEL lessons and / or DEIB lessons in grades K1-G5 and in Advisory grades 6-8.
- Conduct Classroom observations when necessary
- Meet regularly with the principal and student support staff / counselors to make sure all students in your caseload are supported
- Support the admissions team through shadow experiences, observations, interviews, and transition programming.
- Work collaboratively with Director of Counseling and Directors / Principals on newsletter and parent education throughout the year

Level B2 required, C1 preferred (based on Common European Framework of References for Languages) or equivalent certification such as TOEFL or IETLS.
Physical Demands :
Location and Schedule : Expected work hours are 7 : 45am-3 : 45pm, M-F; you may have to work outside of these hours periodically. This job does not have remote work flexibility. All employees must be based in Denver, CO.
Benefits (please see ISDenver benefits summary information here) :
Paid leave for all full-time staff : Thanksgiving break (3 days), winter break (2 weeks), 4th of july week (1 week)
Salary Range : $45,000-65000, DOE
