JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a skilled and experienced UAS Operator to join our team specializing in electric hybrid VTOL unmanned aircraft systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating Group 3 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), particularly those utilizing electric hybrid propulsion systems or VTOL capabilities. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, a deep understanding of military UAS operations, and a commitment to ensuring the safety and efficacy of our cutting-edge UAS fleet. This position is at the foundation of a quickly growing effort with room to grow into increased responsibility or a track into site management.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Experience operating Group 3 unmanned aerial vehicles in military or commercial settings
- Ability to perform flight operations, demonstrations, technical support, and training in both CONUS and OCONUS environments
- Proficiency in conducting pre-flight and post-flight inspections according to established procedures
- Technical capability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and avionics issues on UAS systems
- Strong collaboration skills to work with engineering teams on performance feedback and design improvements
- Excellent documentation skills for maintaining accurate maintenance and operation records
- Thorough understanding of regulatory requirements governing DoD or Civil
UAS operations
- US citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
- High school diploma, equivalent, or beyond
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Military UAS Instructor-Operator certification highly desired
- Proven experience with electric hybrid VTOL systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of UAV systems, including propulsion, payloads, avionics, and data link systems
- Advanced proficiency with UAV ground control stations, networking, and diagnostic software
- Technical aptitude for interpreting manuals, drawings, and schematics
- Problem-solving excellence in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Prior military service with overseas deployment experience
- FAA Class 2 Flight Physical
- Exceptional communication skills with multidisciplinary team experience
- Experience developing technical training materials, SOPs, and TTPs
- FAA Ratings (Part 107/Private Pilot/Commercial/Instrument/CFI)
- A&P certification or equivalent maintenance experience
