JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a skilled and experienced UAS Maintainer to join our team specializing in electric hybrid VTOL unmanned aircraft systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintaining and repairing unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). particularly those utilizing electric hybrid propulsion systems and VTOL capabilities. This position requires meticulous attention to detail a deep understanding of aircraft mechanics, and a commitment to ensuring the operational readiness and safety of our cutting-edge UAS fleet.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on electric hybrid VTOL UAS to ensure operational reliability and airworthiness.
- Conduct pre-flight and post-flight inspections according to established procedures and checklists.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and avionics issues on UAS systems, and oversee repairs as necessary.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to provide feedback on UAS performance and contribute to improvements in design and operational procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs. inspections. and parts inventory.
- Adhere to regulatory requirements and company policies governing UAS operations and maintenance.
DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Proven experience as a UAS Maintainer or similar role, with specific expertise in electric hybrid VTOL systems preferred.
- Knowledge of UA V systems. including propulsion systems, avionics. flight controls, and data link systems.
- Familiarity with UAV ground control stations and software used for flight operations and diagnostics.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings. and schematics related to UAS maintenance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification preferred.
- FAA Class 2 Flight Physical preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Additional technical training or certifications in aviation maintenance or a related field preferred.
