Overview : TITLE : DESIGNER I
LOCATION : ARVIN, CA
COMPENSATION : $22.00 - $32.00 / HOUR
PURPOSE :
Position is primarily responsible for assisting Project Operation team in various forms of drafting, detailing, and design.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
- Set up Design / Detail format of Project / Service order assigned.
- Design & Layout the Project / Service Order in 3D detail, in conjunction with Project Manager and or Designer III.
- Provide Equipment layout and list to Project manager for asset and scheduling purposes.
- Communicate with Project Manager and / or Designer III on any issues with design process.
- Communicate with Designer III / Drafting Supervisor or Fabrication Shop Manager to ensure best design methods for fabrication purposes, prior to detailing.
- Communicate with Drafting Supervisor and Project Scheduler for regular updates on various task, objectives, and issues throughout project.
- Communicate with Designer III to develop better understanding and skills.
- Field verify project area to ensure accurate design models.
- Provide detail drawings for fabrication purposes.
- Provide detailed installation drawings for each assigned Project / Service.
- Field verify Facility information to ensure accurate location of permanent buildings, and their infrastructure.
- Field Document (when available) underground utilities.
- Communicate with Civil field Engineer for utility documentation.
- Communicate with other Designers and or Drafting Supervisor to ensure accurate transmittal of 3D Projects / Service Orders to 2D facility.
- Update Facility drawings with Project and / or Service Order information, as provided by Drafting Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Must be able to remain in a stationary position throughout much of the working day. Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity equipment. Ability to occasionally move about inside the office and food processing facilities. Must be able to work in a high noise area. Must be able to work in a wet and cold environment. Must be able to work in different temperatures (working temperatures as hot as 105 F and as cold as 20 F).
