What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Gringo's Mexican Kitchen?
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Welcome and greet guests.
- Make them feel comfortable and ensure they know you're there to care for them.
- Answer questions about our menu, beverages, and restaurant services.
- Take orders from guests and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
- Deliver food and beverages promptly.
- Prepare the final bill, present it to the guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change.
- Perform side work as required by management at the start and end of each shift.
- Monitor guests' dining experience to ensure satisfaction with food and service.
- Respond promptly and courteously to requests and communicate feedback to managers.
- Assist fellow servers as needed.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must work 1-2 Food Runner shifts per week.
- Gain a strong working knowledge of the menu through server training.
- Attend all scheduled team meetings.
- Previous restaurant experience is optional but preferred.
- Ability to read and understand simple instructions.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Effective communication skills to present information to customers and team members.
- Basic math skills to handle cash transactions.
- Proficient in operating computer point-of-sale systems.
- Excellent hygiene and grooming habits.
- Food Handler Certification is required.
- TABC Certification is also required.
- Constant standing and walking.
- Occasional stooping or kneeling.
- Occasional lifting or carrying up to 40 pounds.
- Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps.
- Working in a hot, wet, humid, and loud environment for extended periods.
- Repetitive wrist and spine movements.
- Continuous oral communication and talking.
- Clear vision at near and far distances.
