Machine Shop Warehouse Attendant
JOB DIMENSIONS:
Job Summary:
Under moderate supervision, set-up tool assemblies per dispatch list. Operate Tool Pre-setter and related
controls. Check tools and tool assemblies for wear as well as clean and maintain them.
Perform related job duties as assigned.
Reports to:
Department Supervisor or Manager.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
Set up tool assemblies from components per written instruction;
Check tools for worn or damaged components;
Maintain accurate tool list by interacting with the operator, lead person, and programmer;
Obtain and return work supplies from tool crib as needed;
Maintain a clean and safe work area;
Maintain equipment so that it is always in good operating conditions;
Operate computer to maintain accurate production records;
Move heavy pallets with a walk-behind forklift;
Operate jib crane and bridge crane to load and unload parts;
Familiar with hitching and rigging equipment and their use;
Regular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and
Fully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations
QUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES:
Any combination equivalent of, but not limited to, the following:
Experience/Training/Education:
Considerable experience and training in cutting tools and setting them up, operating and adjusting Presetter, experience with the use of computer software relative to tool setting and scheduling.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Basic knowledge of methods and techniques for operating CNC mills, lathes, and related cutting tools;
Basic knowledge of tool grinding to the extent of being able to recognize dull tools;
Basic knowledge and ability to operate a computer;
Knowledge of safe equipment operating procedures and work practices;
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations necessary for setting tools;
Ability to read and interpret blueprints to maintain quality and conformity of cutting tools;
Ability to use precision measurement and hand tools;
Ability to communicate and work cooperatively with others;
Ability to safely use a walk-behind forklift;
Ability to safely operate jib crane and bridge crane; and
Knowledge of safe hitching and rigging techniques to manipulate parts.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to bend, stoop, stretch, lift, move, and carry tooling and materials weighing 50 pounds or less;
Ability to move heavier objects using mechanical devices or with the assistance of co-workers;
Ability to reach equipment control settings; and
Ability to perform essential functions of the job, as defined;
Reasonable accommodations provided upon request.
Special Requirements:
Safety work shoes; and
Acceptable set of machinist tools may be required.
Salary : $16 - $30
