Job Overview
We are hiring for a related 3rd party that is in need of an accountant / controller position in the construction & development industry. They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, with a focus on both corporate accounting and financial analysis. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. The Accountant will play a key role in managing accounts receivable and accounts payable, as well as assisting with payroll and forecasting.
Duties
- Manage and oversee daily accounting operations including accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, reports, and forecasts to provide insights into financial performance.
- Utilize financial software, including QuickBooks, for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations through double entry bookkeeping practices.
- Assist in payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate employee compensation.
- Collaborate with other departments to support corporate accounting initiatives and improve financial processes.
- Maintain organized records of all financial transactions for audit purposes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or a similar role.
- Proficiency in financial software, particularly QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts including forecasting and analysis.
- Knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
