Job Description
We’re looking for a Junior Web Developer to join the Grit Marketing team. This role is perfect for someone with a strong foundation in WordPress who’s also fluent in marketing performance - someone who can code a clean layout and understand why a headline converts. You’ll support our digital initiatives by helping build, update, and optimize our WordPress site. You’ll also play a key role in the execution of performance-driven campaigns, working closely with marketing strategists, designers, and content teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Website Design & Development
- Build, maintain, and optimize WordPress sites using custom themes, page builders, and lightweight plugins.
- Implement responsive, fast-loading, SEO-optimized layouts.
- Maintain and troubleshoot site performance, uptime, and plugin compatibility.
- Marketing Integration
- Collaborate with marketing teams to implement conversion-driven elements such as landing pages, opt-in forms, and analytics tracking.
- Use A/B testing tools and conversion rate optimization (CRO) best practices to improve user journeys and lead funnels.
- Assist in setting up integrations between websites and platforms like Google Tag Manager & Salesforce.
- Content & Campaign Support
- Work with content creators and designers to publish and format blogs, visual assets, and campaign pages.
- Ensure consistent visual hierarchy and messaging across pages.
- Create and manage reusable page templates and content blocks for streamlined campaign rollouts.
- Maintenance & Optimization
- Monitor site performance and implement front-end improvements to boost speed and user experience.
- Regularly audit for broken links, mobile UX, and outdated content.
- Stay up to date on SEO and WordPress best practices.
What We’re Looking For
- Technical Skills:
- Proficient in WordPress (theme structure).
- Comfortable with front-end languages: HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript.
- Familiarity with SEO fundamentals, page speed optimization, and mobile responsiveness.
- Basic knowledge of web tracking tools like Google Analytics, Tag Manager, and Facebook Pixel is a plus.
- Marketing Experience:
- Understanding of lead generation and how web design affects conversion rates.
- Ability to interpret campaign performance data and adjust site elements accordingly.
- Bonus: experience with paid media campaigns, landing page platforms, or marketing automation tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Attention to detail and consistency across projects.
- Comfortable taking initiative and working independently.
