Job Summary
The Technical Systems Analyst is responsible for assisting stakeholders and customers with information system issues (40%), system analysis, implementation, and project management (50%), and coordinating technical resources while supporting management and staff in policy development, training, and regulatory compliance (10%). This role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and security of computers, databases, and networks, while also assisting the Information Systems team with assigned projects and tasks. The analyst will also serve as a backup for Information Systems staff as needed.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, and safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service and treat customers, peers, and stakeholders with professionalism and respect.
- Project Management & System Support:
- Manage and oversee assigned projects.
- Consult with users regarding information system usage and determine hardware, software, and functional requirements.
- Supervise and coordinate volunteers and interns on assigned projects.
- Analyze processes and system resource usage, recommending improvements.
- Assist in implementing software and hardware solutions.
- Technical Support & Maintenance:
- Provide troubleshooting support for software, hardware, and user access issues.
- Install, configure, and maintain PCs, printers, and other computer hardware/software.
- Install, set up, and maintain network peripherals (e.g., terminal servers, modems, switches, routers, bridges).
- Maintain and troubleshoot telecommunications systems.
- Create and manage databases and develop tools for effective data utilization.
- Maintain issue tracking logs for technical problems and resolutions.
- Training & Communication:
- Educate users on information system policies and best practices.
- Communicate with hospital staff, volunteers, and the medical community on IT-related issues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Advanced personal computing skills, including knowledge of PC operating systems, thin clients, and enterprise application programs.
- Understanding of database theory and structure.
- Programming skills (preferred).
- Working knowledge of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and serial communications, including protocols and standards in use.
- System administration skills, including experience with Linux/Unix, Windows Server, Citrix, Cisco IOS, print spooling, backups, and hardware infrastructure.
- Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and project management skills.
- Self-motivated with a customer-service orientation.
