What are the responsibilities and job description for the Demand Planner position at Grivet Outdoors?
This role is focused on executing the responsibilities for the Inventory & Operations Planning process across our marketplace platforms. The Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models, incorporating business intelligence and trend data. In analyzing the business momentum, this position collaborates with the buying team, supply chain team and brands. This position will also be the subject matter expert of Supply and Demand KPIs used to communicate forecast accuracy, inventory levels, aged, excess & obsolete, and alignment to Financial and Corporate targets (budget / latest operating plan). This person will be a key collaborator in the development of line architecture as well as an integral liaison between the buying team, business development team and back-end functions (Supply Chain, Operations, and Finance) in the establishment and execution of the forecast.
As the Demand Planner, you will have an opportunity to:
- Create the 12-month rolling forecast utilizing historical data, current trends, and statistical models to facilitate the agreement of a consensus business plan
- Create/review/validate rolling 12-month top sku-level demand signals incorporating multi-marketplace demand to ensure balanced inventory supply.
- Own the Sales Analysis process – identification of risks and opportunities with the forecast to demand translation, planning out inventory levels, safety stock analysis and direction.
- Drive timely decisions and execution strategies for aged, excess & obsolete inventory.
- Develop, implement, and maintain dashboard reporting to facilitate the tracking and reporting of KPIs, presenting observations to counterparts in buying and supply chain.
- Own Demand-to-Forecast deviation review; adjusting and identifying the key drivers of variances, identify risks and opportunities and challenge discrepancies.
You have:
- High functional competency in Amazon Seller Central and Walmart Seller Center.
- Strong understanding of forecasting, analytics and operations planning with the ability to adopt a growth mindset with continuous improvement.
- Proven successful track record on cross-functional team projects, including leading teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Detail oriented with attention to accuracy.
- Demonstrate strong aptitude in analysis, root causes identification, and problem solving.
- Direct experience working with supply chain operational partners.
- BS/BA in relevant field including Economics, Finance, Math or Business, MBA preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 year of experience in Planning / Analytics function.
- MBA Preferred.
- Competence in Excel, Power BI, Python for automation preferred.
