Requirements:
- Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management
- Modeling relevant data (such as customer forecast information; market information; etc) to forecast future demand
- Propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy
- Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies that could impact supply and demand forecasts
- Collecting, organizing and presenting data from internal and external sources on factors known to affect supply and demand
- Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and provide recommended actions to address
- Recommend, implement, and maintain (working with Operations Management) inventory management philosophies (ex: min/max, KANBAN, etc)
- Maintains procurement records per company policy, such as items or services purchased costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Develops and manages a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure best quality, price, delivery, and service
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action
- Prepares and issues purchase orders and change of notices
- Reviews purchase order claims, contracts, and invoices for conformance to company policy
- Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications
- Ensures procured items are supplied with adequate documentation and that all documentation is made available to the engineering staff
- Works with suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule
Essential Duties:
- EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Business or field related
- EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years’ experience in procurement in Specialty Chemicals
- LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Valid Driver's License
- TRAVEL: 5%
- OTHER:
- Submit to and satisfactorily complete pre-employment background, medical, alcohol, and drug screening
- Previous experience with Oracle, JD Edwards and E1 would be preferred
