The Commercial Roofing Project Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of commercial roofing projects. They are responsible for leading a team of roofing technicians, coordinating project activities, ensuring adherence to safety and quality guidelines, and delivering projects within budget and on schedule. The Commercial Roofing Project Superintendent acts as a liaison between the roof technicians, the client and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Coordination
- Work with our Project Management team to understand and execute the game plan of your assigned roofing project
- Coordinate and schedule project activities, including material procurement and delivery, crew assignments, and equipment needs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to address project requirements and resolve any issues.
2. Team Leadership and Management
- Supervise and lead a team of roofing technicians, providing supervision and support as needed.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project goals, progress, and expectations.
- Monitor and evaluate team performance, providing feedback and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
3. Safety and Quality Control:
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to identify and address potential hazards or risks.
- Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the highest level of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
4. Project Execution and Documentation:
- Oversee the execution of roofing projects, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and timelines.
- Monitor project progress, identify any issues or delays, and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including daily activity logs, work orders, and change orders.
- Collaborate with the project team to prepare progress reports, project summaries, and final documentation.
5. Client Relationship Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders regarding project updates and inquiries.
- Address client concerns promptly, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and problem-solving.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (relevant certifications or trade school education preferred).
- Proven experience in commercial construction, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Knowledge of commercial roofing systems, materials, and installation techniques would be ideal but not required.
- Strong understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and blueprints.
- Proficient in using construction management software and other project management tools.
