What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Controls Technician position at Grob Systems, Inc.?
Support installation and service calls at GROB customer sites. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, startup, and debugging of machine tool equipment with a focus on electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, as well as programming adjustments. Extensive travel is required on short notice.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Rapid response to customer issues/installations
- Program and troubleshoot PLC and NC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, Fanuc)
- Robot programming (ABB & Fanuc) and integration
- Electrical hardware troubleshooting, servo tuning, and network integration
- Parameterize and tune servo drives
- Assist customers with part run-offs and ensure final acceptance of systems
Requirements
- Education: High School Diploma (minimum)
- Technical Skills: Experience with PLC programming, troubleshooting, and commissioning (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Rockwell, Fanuc, etc.)
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on-site
- Experience: 2 years of relevant experience preferred

- Travel: Must be willing and able to travel frequently, often on short notice
- Work Environment: Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Communication: Strong communication skills in an international setting
- Overtime: Willingness to work overtime when necessary to meet project deadlines or customer needs
- Passport: Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid passport for potential international travel
