Job Summary:
The Closing Manager is responsible for overseeing the store’s operations during the closing shift. This role ensures that the store is properly cleaned, organized, and secure for the next business day. The Closing Manager will lead a team of employees, provide customer service, maintain inventory levels, and ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Store Operations:
- Manage and oversee closing shift activities, ensuring all store procedures are followed.
- Ensure that the store is clean, organized, and properly stocked by the end of the shift.
- Supervise and motivate closing shift staff, ensuring productivity and efficiency.
- Team Leadership & Training:
- Train, coach, and provide feedback to staff on customer service standards and operational procedures.
- Assign tasks to employees and monitor their progress to ensure successful closing operations.
- Inventory Management:
- Assist with the inventory count and ensure that stock is accurately counted and recorded.
- Ensure that any inventory discrepancies are reported and resolved appropriately.
- Customer Service:
- Provide excellent customer service during closing hours, addressing customer concerns or questions.
- Resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Store Security:
- Oversee the closing of registers, ensuring all transactions are accurately processed.
- Secure the store at the end of the day, including locking doors, setting alarms, and ensuring all security protocols are followed.
- Administrative Duties:
- Complete end-of-day reports, including sales reports and staff performance.
- Communicate effectively with the store manager and other team members to ensure seamless operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in retail or grocery management, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Flexible schedule, including the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
