What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Scribe position at Grosinger, Spigelman and Grey?
As an Ophthalmic Scribe you will work alongside physician dictating into the patient’s chart and assist physician with minor in-office procedures.
Schedule: Monday through Thursday 730a-430p & Friday 730a-330p
- No Weekends
What you will be doing
- Work alongside the doctor dictating into the patients chart or assisting as needed
- Prep exam rooms for treatment as needed
- Prep patients prior to the exam (administer drops, open chart and other applicable documentation for doctor to review, have patient sign any necessary consent forms prior to treatment)
- Bring patients to and from the exam rooms
- Review care instructions with patients
- Review chart to verify that proper authorization is on file for treatment prior to the doctor performing
- Assist in answering triage calls for patients with questions
- Miscellaneous office tasks as deemed necessary
What you know
Required
- Able to work in dim lighting
- High-level computer skills
- Medical terminology
- Capable of standing a majority of the day
- Experience working as a medical scribe
- A calm and polite demeanor that is patient when working with primarily elderly patients
Desired
- Experience working in ophthalmology
