Job Summary:
Example: The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage operations at Grosse Ile Golf and Country Club. This role ensures the highest level of level of service, quality and member satisfaction while maintaining budgetary guidelines and operational efficiency. The manager will lead a team, develop menus, coordinate events and uphold club standards for service excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all food and beverage operations, including dining room, beverage service and banquet service.
- Recruit, train, schedule and supervise food and beverage staff, ensuring exceptional service and professionalism.
- Develop and implement operating procedures to enhance efficiency and quality of service.
- Lead pre-meal and pre-event staff meetings.
- Work closely with the Executive Chef to create and update menus, ensuring a high-quality dining experience for members and guests.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations, liquor licensing laws and club policies.
- Foster a positive and professional work environment that promotes teamwork and staff development.
- Plan, coordinate and execute special events and banquets with other club departments.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with members, addressing concerns and feedback to enhance the overall dining experience.
- Oversee purchasing and inventory control to ensure product availability while minimizing waste.
Required Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years experience in food and beverage management, preferably in a private club, resort or upscale dining environment.
- Strong leadership, communication and team building skills.
- Exceptional service and problem solving abilities.
- Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and state liquor laws.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Proficiency in POS systems
