What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Programming position at Grounded Strategies?
Primary Responsibilities
- Manage strategic partnerships across program areas
- Attend relevant partnership meetings to connect with key stakeholders locally and nationally
- Keep Project Managers accountable to accomplishing quarterly progress toward program/project KPI goals
- Oversee the quality and success of all aspects of program operations, management, relationships, curriculum development, staff and volunteer training, and supervision
- Monitor program budgets and oversee grant and contract compliances
- Oversee the preparation of Quarterlies slide deck presentations for assigned programs
- Represent the organization at conferences and other public events; leading activities, speaking roles, and training locally and nationally
- Publish blogs, articles, and/or reports on Groundeds work for peer review and distribution throughout our existing network and beyond
- Directly supervise program staff members on an ongoing basis, including:
- Monitoring workload, staff capacity, and the alignment of the two.
- Helping Junior staff to set professional development goals and to create strategies for success.
- Checking in regularly on interoffice concerns, and/or personal and HR concerns.
- Conducting annual reviews for assigned staff.
General Responsibilities
- Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people
- Apply change, risk, and resource management principles when needed
- Read reports prepared by managers to determine progress and issues
- Ensure program operations and activities adhere to legal guidelines and internal policies
- Develop strategic long-term program expansion goals and budgets with Executive Director
- Attend and plan professional development seminars as requested
- Chair and/or participate in Grounded internal committees.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree (BA, BS, etc.) in a related field, or equivalent relevant experience in place of a degree; Masters degree preferred; Relevant experience in planning, community engagement and/or community development preferred over other areas of expertise related to our work.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience, including experience in a similar role or progressing from a related position
- Proven experience managing teams of 5
- Deep understanding of HR management and staff coaching best practices
- Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods
- Outstanding experience with data analysis, reporting, and budgeting
- Business acumen with a strategic ability to drive organizational growth and impact
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- An analytical mindset with great problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Work well with people in various communities, as well as in institutional and governmental organizations
- Cultural competency to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- A history of developing funded relationships with nonprofits and contractors
- Experience in meeting facilitation, leading public presentations, training, speaking engagements and/or community relations
- Proficient computer skills, especially using Google Suite, project management task tracking software, and preferably, GIS.

Salary & Schedule
Base salary begins at $63,250, commensurate with experience and based on the organizations financial health. Additional benefits include:
- Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance: 85% Coverage for employees (this is subject to change as health plans change in the future)
- 10 Holidays, plus your birthday, in addition to the week between Christmas and New Years when the Grounded office is closed
- 19 days of personal time off (includes all vacation, sick leave, and other personal days off)
- Eligibility for Life Insurance, Short - and Long - term disability, and our SIMPLE IRA retirement plan with up to 3% match from Grounded.
Exempt position. The position is expected to work at least 40 hours weekly. Candidates must be open to working a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
