AutoCAD Drafter

Groundworks is seeking a talented AutoCAD Drafter to join our tribe in Fairfield, CA!

The AutoCAD Drafter works with engineers and permit administrators to prepare technical 2-D drawings, foundation plans, and GIS based site plans, for permit applications. Provide support to administrative tasks assigned by the engineering team. Support the administrators of the local branches with various tasks related to engineering documentation process and permit submittals and permit closings. This job involves research of county tax records, converting field sketches into AutoCAD, and creating permit packages with engineering calculations, charts, and cover letters to accompany CAD drawings.

Job Responsibilities

• Take hand sketches and digital drawing, and create structural drawings utilizing AutoCAD LT.
• Must be able to create CAD 2-D drawings accurately using field sketches, GIS, and general research.
• Preferred to be comfortable with AutoCAD Lt 2023, in model space, and paper space.
• Responsible for utilizing the following command and CAD categories: draw, modify, annotate, layers, and properties. The Hatch command, line type, and line weight options are important to know, and how to modify on a daily basis.
• Must be willing to learn products offered for foundation repair.
• Track progress through shared excel documents and CRM database
• Help ensure that the proper permit workflow is being used with in-house CRM database
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Degree/GED
• Experience with AutoCAD (in school / or job related) required
• 1-2 years Administrative Assistant experience preferred
• Previous permitting experience preferred, but not required
• Experience with Microsoft Office preferred
• Must be positive and motivated with excellent communications skills
• Ability to adapt quickly to changes in work strategy
• Excellent computer skills
• Great oral and verbal communication

Working Conditions

The AutoCAD Drafter will be in an in office environment with a minimal amount of travel. An eight (8) hours shift, five (5) days a week, Monday thru Friday is typical. Overtime may be allowable, if approved by management.
