What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pharmacy Technician position at Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin?
1.0 FTE/40 hours per week
The Pharmacy Technician assists pharmacists in the provision of professional pharmacy services in GHC-SCW pharmacies. The Pharmacy Technician works under the general guidance and daily supervision of the Pharmacist and the Pharmacist - in - Charge.
JOB SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program is desirable.
Enrollment in accredited Pharmacy Program required.
Pharmacy experience is preferred.
Previous experience with computers preferred.
Ability to use or learn to use computers for order entry, inventory control, billing and record keeping.
Ability to perform accurate mathematical calculations.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with patients and clinical staff is required.
Ability to work with a diverse patient population. Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to pay close attention to detail and problem solve.
Ability to successfully interact with other pharmacy staff is required.
Ability to maintain confidentiality is required. Knowledge of or ability to learn HIPAA requirements.
Ability to provide own transportation to various locations, as required.
Ability to stand for long periods of time is required.
Ability to reach, bend, lift, pull, push and /or carry up to 25 pounds regularly is required.
Ability to see near, mid and far range is required.
Good hand dexterity in order to handle small items such as medication packets is required.
Ability to use keyboard is required.
Ability to write legibly is required.
