Responsibilities
- Attending meetings regarding construction change order matters
- Understanding of construction and construction means and methods
- Review plans, architectural drawings, specifications, and development estimates refining costs as drawings are issued
- Review and leveling of bids; confirming that the scope intent has been met. Identify and price items that have been omitted or excluded.
- Review, price and negotiate change orders
- Maintain change order request and change order logs, reporting to project staff on the status of reviews and issues.
- Ability to document Change Order negotiations
- Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record
- Analytical and quantitative skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to develop and maintain successful relations to efficiently and effectively meet project goals and objectives
- Ability to set and be accountable for project deadlines
- Excellent skills with Microsoft Office Suite and other construction related programs
- Identify cost trends to assist management in decision making
- Ability to prepare reports, track project cost and performance
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) (engineering and/or construction management a plus)
- 3 plus years’ experience in cost management / cost control / project & program controls / engineering & construction management (i.e., consultant, owner, owner rep, contract/architect, contractor, engineer) a plus
- Knowledge of construction financial systems and procedures
- Experience in cost management, cost control and/or cost estimating on heavy civil/transportation/MEP infrastructure/commercial and industrial projects and programs.
- SAP and Oracle Primavera P6 is plus.
- OSHA- 30 preferred.
- We encourage and support you in obtaining DBIA, CCM, PMI, PMP, or PE certifications.
