Data Platform Engineering team is a high performing technology team with a mission to Build and support a secure, scalable, frictionless, self-service data platform that enables business teams to rapidly build quality, compliant data products. We build and maintain Data Platform infrastructure that include data storage, pipelines, reporting and analytics workbench. We bring the right tools / practices in the data domain into Group 1001 to maintain our competitive advantage

Job Summary :

This intern position will work with Data Platform Engineering group. The position offers the intern an opportunity to work and learn with a high performing team of seasoned Data professionals getting exposure to big data processing, AI, ML and building Python applications. The role is engineering heavy and very technical. While the candidates are not expected to be experts, they are expected to demonstrate their passion for Data and AI space by taking courses related to the field.

Main Accountabilities :

• Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to spin required AWS compute and storage
• Develop and Deploy a python based application on AWS Cloud infrastructure to process, analyze and report on usage and spend data.
• Work with Data Platform Engineers to understand how to get the usage and spend data from snowflake
• Implement monitoring and observability of the python utility
• Report the usage and cost associated with different business capabilities, so leaders can make informed decisions on where to spend their $
• Create monitoring and alerts to catch rouge processes that could not only create a cost spike but also a security risk
• Use AI to identify inefficient processes
• Use AI to recommend improvements
• Educate users how to use metrics for decision making
